The best way to get involved with the Mississippi Valley Quilters Guild and meet new friends is to join a sit-n-sew. The following groups are free to join and open to all Guild members. Click on the name of each group to read the details.
The PinPal Quilters group meets from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Butterworth Education Center. We work on our own projects so you must bring everything you will need. Bring your sewing machine or handwork. This is a great facility to mark or baste quilts with the large tables available. Open to all guild members. For more information, contact Faye Kunz.
The Quilt Queens group meets every third Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 2363 West 3rd St., Davenport. No steps—just take the elevator to Luther Hall.
Quilt Queens also meets the fourth Thursday (except in November and December) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Eastern Avenue Branch of the Davenport Library. Contact Judy Nelson with questions regarding meetings at the Eastern Avenue Library.
This group is open to all guild members.
The Fiber Arts Group meets at 1 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the Fairmount Branch of the Davenport Public Library.
Along with an extensive show and tell and a Q&A session, we have various demonstrations and programs pertinent to fiber arts.
Play days are also on the second Tuesday of each month from 9:00-11 a.m. at the Fiber Artists Studio, 601 Brady St. #21, Davenport, IA. This is a mini workshop on a new technique. Sign up is required.
