There is so much happening in March. Don’t miss out on any of the additional activities to meet other quilters and make new friends. Join us at one or more of the events.
Our general meeting is March 5 with 2 great historical presentations with Becky Wright. A time to learn. Retreat is the 6th-10th. A wonderful time to get to know each other. Make sure to call Sue Kirk firstname.lastname@example.org or Mary Pement Marpem49@gmail.com (309) 797-6367 if you haven’t signed up yet. There are still some spaces in both buildings.
National Quilting Day is March 16th. To celebrate we are having a display of quilt winners from the past 2 shows at the Figge Art Museum, March 19th-24th. It is always fun to go into the museum and see quilts hanging in the entrance hall. There is an Artist Reception on Thursday the 21st. Come and have hors d’oeuvres, meet some of the quilters who have quilts on display, and get to know someone you don’t know.
The bus trip to the International Quilt Festival Chicago at Rosemont Convention Center. It is awesome to see all the quilts. We have three members with quilts hanging in the Midwest Quilters display, Bev Hoy, Susie Goodley, and Cindy Hoste. Congratulations Ladies. Of course the vendors are fun to explore too.
March 30th is the overflow of the “One Block Wonder” Skill Builder Workshop.
March 31st and April 1st are classes with the national speaker, Rita Lynn from Almost Heaven Designs in Colorado. Another great time to meet other people in the class, learn something new and have a couple of great projects to decorate your home or give to a loved one as a gift. Rita Lynn will be the speaker at the April 2nd general meeting.
Of course, all the regular Sit and Sews are there throughout the month. Lots of opportunities to get together and meet other like-minded people and have fun too.
