2018 Quilt Show Auction


Now is the time to consider a donation of one or more items to the “Small Quilt and Related Items” Committee for our September Quilt Show. 2018 Quilt Show Challenge

The 2018 MVQG Quilt Show Challenge will focus on the theme of Sun, Moon, and/or Stars in a quilt piece. Traditional, modern, or art techniques can be employed. No size requirement. Quilt must tie in to any one, or two, or all three aspects of the theme.

Hanging Sleeve Directions


Remember to attach a hanging sleeve to your quilts, especially larger ones. Instructions are, “Construct a tube from a 10” wide piece of fabric (does not have to match backing) that is 5” less than the width of the quilt. Machine hem the 10” sides, then sew a ¼” seam along the long edge, WRONG sides together. Press, centering the long seam. By allowing your quilt(s) to be in the show, you are giving permission for photos to be taken of your quilt(s). These photos may be used by the Guild — for example, in a CD of the Show, in the 2016 Guild Photo Album, and/or on the Guild’s website or Facebook page and in the Guild newsletter or in any other manner deemed appropriate by the Guild Board of Directors.

A great big THANK YOU! to the Regional Development Authority for granting the MVQG funds to help with our 2016 Great River Quilt Show publicity. The money will be used to purchase yard signs, Quad City Times newspaper ads and a North Scott Press Bizzzy Bee ad.

Visual Impact Award
